Note: rs. Sir Henry Pottinger - who was the first Governor of Hong Kong - was born in Ireland but traces his roots to Scotland and called himself Scotch-Irish. There were also many Pottingers in Wales and England. As far as I can tell from my research, all Pottingers are derived from Alexander le Potager. So, though we may not have similar DNA today, we all came from the same two parents. We also have both Gaelic and Viking blood, which is a wonderful mix!
