Note:   Funeral services were read Sunday at the Christ Lutheran church for William G. Schimmel, who passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1950 at the age of 80 years, nine months and 15 days. Interment was at Spencer cemetery. William G. Schimmel was born on February 8, 1870, near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He came to South Dakota with his parents when he was 10 years old, the family settling on a farm in the Spencer vicinity. On May 8, 1894 he married Ida Feskey of Bridgewater, SD. To their union six children were born, two of whom preceded their parents in death. Mrs. Schimmel died on May 8, 1943. The survivors include two sons, Louis and Marvin, of Salem, SD; two daughters, Mrs. Peter Jacobsen of Salem, SD; and Mrs. Charles Samp of Dovray, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. Out of town relatives here to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Samp, Dovray, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Barnhart and Kenny, Sioux Falls, SD; Albert Kurth, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kurth, Bridgewater, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Schimmel, Spencer, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Healy and daughters, Mrs. Gus Hershley, Mrs. Rose Healy, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Healy, Mrs. Lester Kappenman, Mrs. Agnes Donelan, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Healy, all of Montrose, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Kessel, Mrs. Henry Kessel, Carthage, SD; Mr. and Mrs. George Haage, Mrs. Minnie Jacobsen, Mrs. Frank Vaverka, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuett, Walter, all of Canova, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacobsen, Howard, SD. is NOT responsible for the content of the GEDCOMs uploaded through the WorldConnect Program.
