Note:   Salem Special, Salem, South Dakota, Thursday, March 11, 1999 Funeral services for Delores M. Haga will be Friday, March 12, 1999 in the St. John's Lutheran Church, Montrose, SD. Rev. Thomas Wenndt will officiate. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Michael Karel, Christopher Knecht, Jeremy Hofwolt, Larry Schmeichel, Mike Garrison, and Vernon Wulff. Delores M. Jones, daughter of Lester and Meta (Callies) Jones, was born September 22, 1930 in Fargo, North Dakota. she grew up in Fargo and spent a short time in California before returning to Fargo where she finished her education. On June 27, 1953 she married Ole Haga in Chisholm, Minnesota. After their marriage the lived in Fargo and in Pipestone, Minnesota. They then moved to Humboldt, SD where they lived until 1969 when they moved to Montrose, SD. Delores died on Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Salem, SD. she had reached the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 15 days. She worked in the Humboldt City Bar for many years. she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Montrose, SD. Delores was an avid sports fan and loved to follow her children and grandchildren when they were involved in sporting events. She also was a Minnesota Viking and New York Yankee fan. Survivors include; her husband of Montrose, SD; five children, Beverly Haga of Tempe, Arizona; Mary Lou Schmeichel and husband Larry of Salem, SD; Alice Garrison and husband Mike of South Sioux City, Nebraska; David and wife Andrea of Crooks, SD; and Bobbi Haga of Henderson, Nevada; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Carol Jean.
