a. Note:   Salem Special, Salem, SD Nov. 9, 1978** Funeral Mass for Emma C. Honrath was held Nov. 6, 1978 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salem, SD. Burial was in the church cemetery with Fr. Gerald Thury officiating. The pallbearers were Willie Westhoff, Loren Westhoff, Bob Westhoff, Bob Feterl, Allen Wegener, Rich Roling. Emma Westhoff was born in Petersburg, Iowa on March 15, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. John Westhoff. (Note: the obituary of William Westhoff, lists Emma Westhoff, Mrs. Ed Honrath, as being his daughter) she was married to Edward Honrath and they lived in the Salem, SD area. He passed away in 1947 and Emma moved to Bellaire, Ohio in 1949. Emma passed away in Bellaire having reached the age of 82 years, 7 months and 17 days. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marcella) Gaughan, Bellaire, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Purschke and Mrs. Olive Butler both of Mitchell, SD. She is also survived by three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
