a. Note:   Salem Special, Salem, South Dakota, Thursday, November 26, 1998 Phil Weber, 67, of 817 W. 3rd St., Pierre, SD died Wednesday, November 18, 1998 while goose hunting in Sully County, SD. Funeral Mass was Saturday, November 21, 1998 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pierre, SD. Interment was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Salem, SD. Philip Bernard Weber was born November 2, 1931 in Salem, SD to Stephen R. and Frances (Weber) Weber. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Salem, SD. In 1952 he served in Germany with the 194th Field Artillery Battery of the U.S. Army until 1954. He was united in marriage with JoAnne Flannery on September 1, 1955 in Montrose, SD. They farmed in the Montrose and Salem, SD areas until 1966 when he became Director of Equalization for McCook County. They moved to Pierre in 1976 where he was Director of the Property Tax Division for the South Dakota Department of Revenue until 1978. In 1978 he and a partner established Landmark Appraisal, of which he became president in 1982. He worked in South Dakota and Missouri until 1986, then moved to Garden City, Kansas where Phil worked until retiring in 1994. He was also active in Stephen Ministry in Garden City. After moving back to Pierre, SD in 1994, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, traveling with his wife JoAnne, and visiting his children and grandchildren. Phil was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre, SD where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member and past president of the South Dakota Association of Assessing Officers, a member of Knights of Columbus, VFW, and American Legion. Phil was also involved in the Kinship Program through St. Mary's Hospital. Phil is survived by his wife JoAnne; three sons, Ronald, wife Mary and daughters Ashley and Nicole Weber of Midland, Michigan; Tony and wife Shari Weber of Sioux Falls, SD; and Robert, wife Tess and children Andrew and Jared Weber of Leavenworth, Kansas; four daughters, Dianne, Husband Paul and daughter Rachel Hansen of Lolo, Montana; Sister Jeanne Weber of Yankton, SD; Sharon, husband Tom and daughter Kate Holzer of Blue Earth, Minnesota; and Becky, husband Mike and children Peter and Melissa Berg of Dubuque, Iowa; his mother Frances Weber of Salem, SD; two brothers, Pete and wife Betty Weber of Salem, SD; and Steve and wife Connie Weber of Salem SD; eight sisters; Loretta and husband Mildon Engesser of Blue Earth, Minnesota; Leona and husband Dennis Vogel of Montrose, SD; Bernette Westhoff of Salem, SD; Sister Stephanie Weber of Dell Rapids, SD; Sister Rosemary Weber of Watertown, SD; Theresa Weber of Phoenix, Arizona; Joyce and husband Duane Kappenman of Montrose, SD; and Phyllis and husband Ben Zwart of Colman, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. is NOT responsible for the content of the GEDCOMs uploaded through the WorldConnect Program.
