a. Note:   Peter J. Weber, age 73, of Salem, SD died Friday, February 14, 2003 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Peter J. Weber was born November 9, 1929 on a farm near Salem, SD. He grew up in the Salem area and began farming. On November 14, 1955 he married Betty Lane in Salem. He lived his entire life in the Salem area where he farmed until 1972. He then began working for Feterl Manufacturing of Salem as a truck driver. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. In his earlier years he also enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Salem. Survivors include: his wife of Salem; six children, Raulie (Connie) of Gillette, Wyoming; Doug of Salem, SD; Stephanie (Dan) Daily of Sioux Falls, SD; Chuck (Barbara) of Standish, Maine; Beth Ann (Alan) Carson of Muskegon, Michigan; and Reenie (Todd) Tagatz of Royal Oak, Michigan; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Steve (Connie) Weber of Salem; and eight sisters, Loretta (Miledon) Engesser of Blue Earth, MN, Leona (Dennis) Vogel of Montrose, SD; Bernette Westhoff of Salem, SD; Sr. Stephanie Weber and Sr. Rosemary Weber both of Yankton, SD; Theresa Weber of Scottsdale AZ; Joyce (Duane) Kappenman of Montrose, SD; and Phyllis Zwart of Coleman, SD. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2003 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salem.
