a. Note:   Richmond Reporter Nov 4, 1943 ** Mrs. Ernest Heying died last week Friday at the age of 56 years. The immediate cause of her death was cancer. She was ailing for the past several years. The deceased was born at New Vienna, Iowa, 2-12-1887. She grew to womanhood there and on January 19, 1909 was married to Ernest Heying. Immediately after their marriage they went to housekeeping on a farm in Iowa. Twenty-three years ago they left Iowa and moved to Mantador, ND., and farmed there for eight years after which they moved to a farm between Belgrade and Brooten. After six years of farming there they moved to Richmond. Thirteen children were born to the union and they all survive together with the husband. The children are; Sylvester of Masonville, Iowa; Ambrose on a farm three miles northwest of Richmond; Mary Ann at home; Gilbert of Pearl Lake; Mrs. Alphonse Torborg of Richmond; Corporal Elmer in Africa; Tech Sergeant Leander in India; Mrs. Frank Huezek of Chicago; Jerome of Spring Hill; Paul in the Navy at Stillwater, Oklahoma; Genevieve of Minneapolis; Ernest Jr. and Dolores at home; in addition four sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Joseph Ruebener of Worthington, Iowa; Mrs. John Ries of New Vienna, Iowa; Mrs. John Sturm of Watkings; and Mrs. Margaret Elenz of Woodworth, Iowa.
