Note: Dyersville Commercial (Iowa), Dec 31, 1947 ** Mrs. Katherine Langel, 78, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Johannes, in East Dyersville, Saturday afternoon after being ill about two months. Born in Luxemburg, Iowa, 9-29-1969 as Katherine Heying, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heying, she attended the Luxemburg schools and on 2-19-1889 she was married to Mr. Joseph Langel, in Holy Trinity Church, the late Rev. Oberbroeckling officiating, and they settled on a farm near Dyersville. Mrs. Langel is survived by the following children, Dorothy, Mrs. John Wente; and Vitus of Dyersville; Teckla, Mrs. Ed Johannes of Manchester; Hugo of Greeley; Agatha, Mrs. James Giroux of New Vienna, Iowa; Olivia, Sister M. Ewadine, St. Mary's hospital, Waterloo, and Joseph Jr., of Dyersville. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Henry Heying, New Vienna; Frank Heying, Elgin, Nebraska; John, Barney, and Ernest Heying, all of Richmond, Minnesota; and Peter Heying of Dubuque, Iowa; and Mrs. Mary Kluesner, and Mrs. Nora Klostermann of New Vienna, Iowa. Her husband died on June 29, 1930 and others preceding her in death were one son Norbert, and a daughter who died in infancy, and two brothers, Joseph and George Heying.
