a. Note:   Salem Special, Salem, South Dakota, Thursday, July 18, 1940 Funeral services were held Friday morning, July 5th, for Ignatius Augustine at Geddes, South Dakota, in St. Ann�s church, Rev. Father Kelly officiating. Ignatius Augustine was born at Dyersville, Iowa, March 20, 1871 and died in the hospital at Platte, South Dakota, of a cerebral hemorrhage July 2, 1940. He was married to Mary Funke of New Vienna, Iowa, January 30, 1894 and to this union twelve children were born, all of whom survive him except Lawrence to proceeded him in death in June 1926. Survivors, besides his widow, include his children, Eberhard, Gregory, Raymond, Joseph, and Ignatius Jr., of Geddes, SD; Mrs. Louis Goodman of Grundy Center, Iowa; Mrs. Art Staebler, Mrs. Ray Knoll, Mrs. B.J. Kuhl and Victor Augustine of Marshalltown, Iowa; and Mrs. Wayne Olson of Pierre, South Dakota. He is survived by two brothers, three sisters and thirty six grandchildren. Ignots Augustine lived near Geddes, South Dakota where he farmed.
