a. Note:   Funeral services were held 8-14-1975 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Salem for Elizabeth A. Puetz. Burial was in St. Mary 's Cemetery at Salem. Elizabeth A. Sabers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sabers was born 10-25-1883 at New Vienna, Iowa. She grew to womanhood in this area, and was united in marriage to Andrew Puetz on 1-19-1904 also at New Vienna, Iowa. They lived in Iowa until 1911 when they moved to Salem, SD where they farmed until retiring in 1937 and then they moved into Salem city. Mr. Puetz preceded his wife in death in 1956. Mrs. Puetz continued to make her home at Salem until February of 1974 when she became a resident of Colonial Manors Nursing Home in Salem and she passed away at that place on 8-11-1975 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by five daughters; Argina (Mrs. Henry Rotert) of Lohrville, Iowa; Alma (Mrs. Edward Kobberman) of Salem, SD; Viola (Mrs. Bill Mc Donnell) of Montrose, SD; Elsie (Mrs. Ray Unsen) of Dubuque, Iowa; three sons; Clarence and Edward both of Salem, and Emil of Hartford, SD; one brother, Andy Sabers of Salem; 37 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, six brothers and six sisters.
