Her son Harold came home from town and his mother was coughing quite hard and requested him to get her something to stop the cough, which he did. But she continued, and seeing that she was in a bad condition, Harold rushed over to J.W. Smiths and Ed Becks for help. When he returned he found her so much worse, and before her daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. Murphy could reach her bedside she had passed to the other shore, dying in the arms of Harold. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church Tuesday. A large crowd of people assembled to pay their last tribute of respect and love to the departed. Rev. A.C. Mc Cauley preached the funeral sermon, after which he internment was made at the Canistota Cemetery, Canistota, SD. Grandma Sherman leaves the record of a useful and helpful life.
