Note:   Salem Special, Salem, SD March 19, 1992 Louise Leitheiser Mc Cormick, 87, died Wednesday March 11, 1992 in Colonial Manors at Salem, SD. Louise Leitheiser Mc Cormick was born January 15, 1905, in rural Bridgewater, SD. She grew up in the Bridgewater area and graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1923. She taught rural school in South Dakota for two years. She then attended Milwaukee State Teachers, graduating in 1927. She then taught school in Wisconsin for two years. She returned to the Bridgewater area and taught the Thomas School for three years and the Potter School for two years. She married Francis (Ted) Mc Cormick on September 11, 1939 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bridgewater, SD. They farmed in the Bridgewater area until 1974 when they moved into Bridgewater. She was employed by the Farmers Union green thumb organization as a teachers aide from 1968 to 1984. Survivors include one daughter, Madelynne (Mrs. Don Schwans) of rural Bridgewater; two sons Retired Lt. Col. James H. Mc Cormick and wife Lois of Huntsville, Alabama and Stephen John and wife Joyce of rural Canistota; daughter-in-law Betty of rural Canistota; three sisters-in-law, Loretta Leitheiser, Dorothy Leitheiser and Viola Leitheiser; 19 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Sister M. Michael Leitheiser of Presentation Heights, Aberdeen, SD, and Margaret Heiberger of Bridgewater, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted and son Patrick Francis. Funeral services were held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church of Bridgewater on Saturday, March 14, 1992 with Father Joseph Anderson officiating. Interment was in the St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery.
