a. Note:   Donnabelle E. Schartz, age 76, of Humboldt, SD died Sunday, October 16, 2005 in the Avera Prince of Peace Nursing Home, Sioux Falls, SD. Donnabelle E. Burggraff, daughter of Matt and Dorothy (Kueter) Burggraff was born November 24, 1928 in Sioux Falls. She grew up in the Humboldt area, attended St. Ann�s Grade School, and graduated from Humboldt High School. She then went to work for the John Deere dealer in Sioux Falls. On February 10, 1949, she married Joseph Schartz in St. Joseph�s Catholic Church, Wellington. They farmed in the Humboldt-Hartford area until 1991, when they moved into Humboldt. She had been a resident of Prince of Peace the past four years. She was a member of St. Ann�s Catholic Church of Humboldt, the Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters, and the Hartford American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, was a volunteer for Larry Pressler when he ran for office, was a member of several card clubs, and was an avid reader. She was active in 4-H, enjoyed quilting, and liked to play bingo. She is survived by her husband of Humboldt; eight children, Jeff (Linda), Sioux Falls, Jeanita (Dale) Erickson, Sioux Falls, Patricia (William) Pearson, Hartford, Susan (Virgil) Tjeerdsma, Tyndall, Paul of Humboldt, Scott (Gayle), Sioux Falls, Sheila (Kelly) Vis, Beaver Creek, MN, and Janet (Craig) Swier, Sioux Falls; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Donald (Mary) Burggraff, Sioux Falls; and two sisters, Marian (Herman) Plagge, Sioux Falls, and LaVonne Rose of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 10:30 AM in St. Ann�s Catholic Church, Humboldt.
