a. Note:   Ottilia Angela Deters passed away on Saturday March 9, 2002. She was born June 19, 1920 in Wilmont Township, Wilmont, MN, to Henry Kuemper and Katherine Duwenhoegger. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1931 where she attended St. Joseph's Cathedral and graduated in 1940. Ottilia married John A. Chenoweth July 21, 1945, at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Sioux Falls. He died April 9, 1979. She married Joseph J. Deters July 8, 1989, at St. Joseph's Cathedral. He died January 12, 1997. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Senior Citizens Center, Serra Club, Cursillo, Catholic Daughters, and VFW and Moose Auxiliaries. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Cathedral, and a Charter Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. She volunteered at Prince of Peace in 1998, and Volunteer of the Month for McKennan Hospital September 1998. She is survived by three sons: Alvin (Betty), Walterboro, SC; Virgil (Cindy), Riverside, OH; and Jerome, Denver, CO; five daughters: Paula Tollefson, Tea, SD; Angela (Keith) Feltz, Maryville, TN; Elaine (Jim) Backer, Casper, WY; Lorraine Rich, and Marilyn (Jerry) Cochrun, Sioux Falls, SD; one stepdaughter: Gloria Bourne, Sioux Falls, SD; twenty two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother Herman Kuemper, Sioux Falls, SD; six sisters, Veronica Lund, Mathilda (Kaye) Ruby, Mary Ann (Bob) Hisel, Magdalen (Marge) (Bob) Holm, of Sioux Falls, SD; Agnes Samek, Wimbledon, ND; and Dorothy (Bert) Donovan, Wheatland, WY; two sister-in-laws: Lorraine Kuemper, and Florence Kuemper, Sioux Falls, SD; and two brothers-in-law Ralph (Dottie) Deters, Sioux Falls, SD; and Francis (Hilda) Deters, Salem, SD; one uncle Lawrence (Margaret) Kuemper, Fulda, MN; several nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
