Note: [kallison thomas alewine.ged] Soon after the birth of Elisha, James and Martha moved to VanZant County, Texas. Soon after arriving in Texas, James received word that hewas needed in South Carolina in connection with the settlement of theestate of his grandmother Elizabeth Anderson (Permina's mother). He died on this trip, although it is not known where or how he died. Hishalf-brother later signed an affidavit saying that he was with James at the time of his death. It is known that James went to South Carolina and that for some reason he did not receive his share of the estate.
