Notes
a. Note:   Michael Alewine is the 5th great grandfather of Peggy Ann Stephens. BIOGRAPHY: Michael came to US with his father when he was only 14 years of age. According to the Alton Alewine "Alewines and Alawines" family history, Michael died about 1780 just about 10 years after his father. When Michael died the land he owned went to his oldest son George. It is supposed that George shared some of it with his brothers since they all seemed to own part of it during the 1790's. Thomas bought most of the land from his brothers and kept it until his death in 1856. Neither of Michael's daughters ever married. Katherine died 23 Mar 1847, the day before her 86th birthday. Christinen died 17 Nov. 1857, also at about the age of 86.
