Born in Barronsfield, Cumberland Co., in 1912, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Olive (Cates) McLellan, formerly of Amherst. Addie was a member of United Baptist Church, Brookfield and had recently been presented with her 50 year membership plaque, of which she was very proud. She was also previously a member of the W.M.S. She was a loving, compassionate lady who did many things for people for which she wanted no recognition or thanks. She loved her family and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and hearing of their various activities. Her big love at home was baking and for many years doing handicrafts. Surviving are daughters, Madeline (Harold) Davis, Moncton, N.B.; Stena (the late John Cook), Pleasant Valley; sons, Layton (Joan), Shubenacadie; Lyle (Susan), Brookfield; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Addie was predeceased by her husband, Seldon, in March 1994; great-grandchild, Geoffrey Little, in 1990 (he was the son of Nancy and Jamie Little). Addie was also predeceased by 13 members of her immediate family, the last member to die being her sister, Lillian Lecke, Dartmouth. The surviving family member is her brother, Cecil McLellan, Timmins, Ont. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Pastor Daniel Cormier and Rev. Frank Locke officiating. Burial in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Addie's memory may be made to the United Baptist Church, Brookfield, Victorian Order of Nurses, or a charity of your personal choice. Addie will be sadly missed by a wide array of close friends and dear family. We love you and will miss you, Nanny! " EGP had a friend in Unionvilla named Vera (Quinn) Mrs Robert Agnew, who was a good friend of Lillian, Addie's sister, and Addie and Seldon Carter.
