Note: [2753682.ged] Count of Barcelona; son of Wilfred I, Count of Urgel, and Guinidilda; m. Richilde of Rouergue ; father of Borel II, Count of Barcelona. [GRS 3.03, Automated Archives, CD#100] FOSTER LINE Count of Besalu; d. 15 Oct 952 as a monk; son of Wilfred I el Velloso and Winilda of Flanders ; m. 920/5, Adelaide de Toulouse; father of Borrel II, Count of Barcelona, etc. [Royalty fo r Commoners, p. 29] The crisis was resolved through the resolute efforts of Guifre's sons and grandsons, in whos e time the Spanish March attained a new degree of political stability. The brothers of the fi rst generation divided the counties among themselves, while reserving nominal superiority t o the eldest, Guifre II (897-911), who administred Barcelona, Girona, and Osona. Miro II (897 -927) succeeded to Cerdanya, Conflent, and Bergueda; Sunifred II (897-950) to Urgell. Upon Gu ifre II's early death, Barcelona passed to his younger brother Sunyer (911-47), an irregula r devolution for which Miro II was apparently compensated by the succession to Besalu in 913 .
