Note: Gerald Lewis Hamilton HART (1907 - 2004) Gerald Lewis Hamilton HART was one of Ralph William & Violet (Joscelyne) HART's 3 children. Gerald was born on 4 September 1907 In 1927, Gerald started work as a clerk at the Tasmanian Steamers. During the Second World War received an exemption from military service to assist in ensuring that that the shipping of goods in and out of Tasmania was not disrupted. On 3 September 1933 Gerald married Winifred (Molly) Mary East. Molly the daughter of Hubert Springford East and Ellen Augusta Mercer was born in London on 30 September 1908. Hubert was a noted architect and watercolour artist, setting up practices in Tasmania, England and South Africa. Little is known of Molly's mother Ellen.). Between 1935 and 1947, Gerald and Molly had three sons; Anthony (1935), James (1936) & Robert (1947). In 1948 Gerald joined L W Smith, Wool Scourers in Gleadow Street, Launceston, from 1960, after the closure of L W Smith, Gerald worked at Webster Woolgrowers, where he stayed until 1970. Until 1975 Gerald worked on a part time basis at his son Anthony's accounting firm. Gerald was a keen motorcar and motorbike enthusiast, owning several models throughout the years, he also had a great love of classical music and was a keen violinist.
