Roots-l genealog.charlanc[1-7] Settipani, Christian, Les Ancetres de Charlemagne. Paris: Editions Christian, 1989. ILL Univ of Virginia CS25.S47 1989. RESEARCH NOTES: L. Levillain, "Les Nibelungen historiques," *Annales du Midi*, 49 and 50 (1937-38) suggests that Theodo (d. 717), described as kinsman of the Merovingian Theoderic III (d. 691), had a Merovingian mother. Onomastically, this could account for the Theo- name element, which Levillain believed was usually borne by the Merovingians and their relatives. [Ref: John Carmi Parsons SGM 4/20/1999-143725]
