(e676) The eldest son and heir of the 1st Earl (by his 1st wife) was Sir Alexander Seton, who inherited his mother's estates and was ancestor of the family of Seton of Touch, his descendants retaining their paternal name. On him and his issue appears to have devolved any right to the Barony of Gordon [@.]. See ante, sub Gordon. (f676) Contract 20 May 1455 (19 days after her husband's death). See _Scots Peerage_, iv, 528, from which it appears that the marriage did take place. See, however, Riddell**, pp. 526-528, as also A. Sinclair's _Earldom of March_ in the _Her. and Gen._, vol. vi, pp. 289-311. It appears that the "carnal copulation" had with this Countess Elizabeth was ground of the divorce of the 2nd wife, Princess Annabel, from this uxurious Earl. She finally was m. to Sir John Colquhoun of Luss, and died before Mar. 1494. (_Scots Peerage_, iv, 528). (a677) _Scots Peerage_, iv, 529. See as to his divorce Sinclair's article on "_Filii carnales_" in the _Her. and Gen._, vol. vi, pp. 595, 597.. (b677) Not 1476. See _Scots Peerage_, iv, 529. (c677) Catherine, his eldest da., was m., by order of James IV, in 1496, to Perkin Warbeck, the Pretender to the Kingdom of England. (d) _Acta Dom. Conslii_, xxix, ff. 38, 39.
