Note:   *** Source Abstracts of the Wills and Inventories of Bath County, Virginia 1791-1842 p 16 Will of Wiliam Lockridge of Bath dated Aug 10, 1798 Probated December, 1798 court to wife Elizabeth 1/3 of lands for her lifetime, including the negroes to daughter Ginny all real and personal estate "provided my wife shall not be delivered of a living child by me" if there is a son, all lands to ho him; if a daughter all lands and personal estate equally divided. Callihan vs Lockridge Superior Court of Cancery File # 136, Greenbrier County, VA[West Virginia] The suit involves a suit by William's daughter, Jane, against his estate to recover her inheritance. William was heavily in debt at the time of his death, and that he owned 230 acres of land, 30 acres of which was cleared. Deposition of Elizabeth Carlyle taken by Christophe Graham on July 2nd 1818, "William Lockridge died on the twenty sixth of August one thousand seven hundred and Ninety eight that William Lockridge the son of the deceased was born on the third of March one thousand seven hundred and Ninety nine and the young man is here before us"
