Notes
a. Note:   Her godparents were John Bausbach and Aurelia Stephan. Her birth certificate has her name as Elma, however, her sister Loretta signed an affidavit that the name needed to be corrected to Alma Aurelia. As a child she loved to climb trees and was quite a tomboy. Alma was a straight A student (except for typing) in high school. She graduated from Steele High School at Main and Monument Streets in Dayton in 1927. When Aurelia Stephan died, she left Alma some money. Her parents borrowed the money and paid it back into a Building and Loan account for her. It was $450 when she was 21 years old in 1930 and she bought a Ford with the money in conjunction with her sister, Frances. Together with 2 friends they traveled out west. Before she was married, Alma had been swimming at a lake with friends. While she was standing on a raft in the middle of the lake, Bob Boesch reached out of the water and grabbed her ankle. She sat down hard on her tailbone and hurt her back. She claimed that she married him so that he would have to pay for the osteopathic bills. When her oldest son, Larry had his 8th grade picnic during May 1955, Dick Bauman (a classmate at Corpus Christi Grade School) teased Mrs. Boesch and his own mother, Pricella Bauman, as being "old ladies". She ran after Dick, caught him and along with Mrs. Bauman tickled him until he apologized. Their classmates laughed hysterically as the event unfolded. Larry had learned at an early age that his mom was a very fast runner. She was 41 years old when her youngest child, Martha, was born. The mothers of the other grade school students were amazed that she was so much older than them (the other mothers) - she looked so young for a person 50 years old. She always looked younger than her age. At 80 years old she could still bend over with her legs straight and place her palms on the floor in front of herself. She died of cardiac arrest and was 85 at the time of her death. She was living at One Lincoln Park in Kettering, Montgomery, Ohio and was found on the floor Monday when she did not answer the door. She was buried from St. Albert the Great Church and Meyer & Boehmer Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio. She is buried with her husband, Robert C. and her daughter Mary Catherine in Calvary Cemetery Section 3 Lot 364.
