CHRISTINE ANN (BROCKIE) UNRAU: On Monday, December 08, 2003 at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, Edmonton Alberta, Christine Ann Unrau, formerly of Portage, passed away at the age of 65 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Janet Brockie. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jake of Edmonton, son Garth (Sandra) with grandchildren Christopher, Thomas, Emily and Sarah all of Weyburn Saskatchewan, son Wesley (Laura) with granddaughter Tana (Jeff) and great granddaughter Isabella and grandson Tyler all of Fort McMurray AB, daughter Janice of Edmonton, brother John (Jean) Brockie of Edmonton along with numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Christine was born and raised in Portage la Prairie MB. Christine and Jake lived in Weyburn for 20 years with their family before moving to Edmonton in 1989. It was in Weyburn that Christine was very involved as secretary of the CUPE Local 600-01, leader with Girl Guides, member of the Presbyterian Evening Guild and of the Ladies Skating Club. In Edmonton she enjoyed being a member of the Edmonton Eskimos Fan Club. Christine found pleaure in knitting, reading, watching football and hockey games on TV and visiting with family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 2:00pm with Neil Ronald officiating. Interment is to follow at Hillside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Christine�s memory to SPCA - Winnipeg Humane Society 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or Humane Society of Canada, Box 363 11215 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, ABT5K 0L5.
