Note: Notes for Amanda Lingle: Mrs. Coldwater, 83, Succumbs at Home in Elwood Mrs. Amanda Coldwater, Elwood, widow of the late John Coldwater, former highway commissioner of Jackson township, died this morning at her home after a short illness. She was 83 years old. Born in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Coldwater moved to this territory several years before her marriage in 1879. After their marriage, she moved with her husband to the Coldwater farm in Jackson township. The couple made their home there until 26 years ago when they moved to Elwood. Mr. Coldwater died in Elwood in 1936. Interested in community affairs, Mrs. Coldwater was well known thruout Elwood and the surrounding territory. She was an active worker in church affairs and was a member of the Elwood Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at the Elwood Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. F. J. Edwards will officiate and burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Surviving her are six sons, Aaron, Edward, Bert and Chester of Elwood, Walter of Chase Kans. and Lester of Joliet.
