Note: - Charlie Williams died on a Sunday morning in his home in Navarro Co., TX. He was found by his son, Clete. He had been reading his bible while the younger kids were at church and apparently suffered a heart attack. - The two younger boys were only 7 and 9 years old and now parentless. Troy was unmarried; Jack was off in the service and unmarried; Clete and Clyde were unmarried. Ineta was the only married member of the family but the State said that she already had 2 kids and could not handle any more. J. T. was working on a ranch at the time and was making $6.00 a month. - The youngest boys, Alon and Henry, were sent to the orphanage in Corsicana. They remained there until after Clyde married Ray Gothard and he took the boys out of the home. The next two oldest, Charlie and Arnold, lived with neighboring families. Charlie lived with the Dickson family and Arnold lived with J. J. and Nina Inmon, whose farm bordered the Williams' property. Jack was to later marry their eldest daughter, Hattie Frances. - According to Ineta, who raised the boys after their mother's death, Charlie had nicknames for most of the boys. They included Wart, Mush, Bocephas, June Bug, and Lightning. - Charlie Williams died on a Sunday morning in his home in Navarro Co., Tx. He was sitting on the bed reading his Bible. He fell over on the bed dropping the Bible on the floor. Alon and Henry were in the room. Alon picked up the Bible from the floor and put it beside him. Not fully understanding what had happened they continued what they were doing. Shortly after, Clete came up the lane and they called him. Charlie had apparently suffered a heart attack.
