His brother, Andrew Jackson with them. John Wesley Inman was born Oct 11, 1842 in Tennessee to Elkanah and Sarah Inman. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War; enrolling first with company A of the 72nd Regiment and later entering Company H of the 6th Regiment of the Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia. After the war, John settled in Porter Township, Christian County, Missouri (MO); which is located southwest of Nixa. John married Nancy Lavanda Wilson on Feb 9, 1865 in Nixa, MO. He passed away in 1927 leaving behind his spouse Lavanda and three of their five children, all grown; son John Grandison Inman and wife Cora Inman; son Jim L Inman and wife Martha Jane Inman; son Will D Inman and wife Artie Inman; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Jane Love, wife to Louis F Love; and son Finley Glover "Bud" Inman, husband to Mary Alice Inman. John and Lavanda Inman are buried together at McConnell Cemetery in Nixa, MO. (FindAGrave.com)
