a. Note:   NI7 Roy was a very accomplished player of the Steel Guitar and was in fact teaching at the Ontario Conservatory of Music by the time he was fifteen years old. Unfortunately, his right hand was badly crushed in an industrial accident when he was sixteen and since that time, he was unable to tolerate any lengthy playing.
As far as I remember, Roy was quite the popular as well as good student during his high school years. He was always a leader amongst his peers and was looked up to for advice and guidance.
By the time I had been discharged from the army, Roy had moved away and had become a member of the Church of Scientology and was working his way up through the hieracy of the church. He met his wife Susan through the association with the church, and I had the honour of being his best man.
During the association with the church, Roy and Susan had the opportunity to live and work throughout different places throughout North America and for approximately 18 months in East Grinstead in Sussex County in England.
In Late 1993, Roy entered the hospital with a case of pneumonia and was diagnosed with HIV. By early 1994, it had turned into full blown AIDS to which he succumbed in July 1994. Roy was a victim of his lifestyle.
He is missed greatly by myself and the rest of the family.
Roy was cremated and his ashes were interred with his parents at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
If anyone has memories of Roy that they would wish to have included here, please wite to me.
