Richard supposedly purchased East Sutton Park, near Maidstone in Kent, from John Tufton of Hothfield, but more likely inherited the estate from his father. Was married twice. Mary his second wife, one of the daughters of Sir Reginald Scott, of Scott Hall, in the County of Kent, Knight, marryed the second tyme to Lawrence Washington, Esquire, dyed in Anno 1605, whose souls resting in peace, their bodies lye here interred, attending the General Resurrection. "Member of the Inner Temple. Thought to have published a book in 1562 entitled "THE ACCENDENS OF ARMOURY", a copy of which is in the British Library.
