Notes
a. Note:   NI587044
Note:   In the 1800's when post office's were established in Colquitt County, many were in private homes at strategic points over the county. Some were in stores or commissaries at saw mills or turpentine stills and in the settlements. A listing of the post office's includes one called "Cordova-P.M. : Absalom Baker Jr. -3-13-80 (Disc. in 1880) in a country store near the Baker place south of Ellenton, about Land Lot 295 in 9th Land district. Jan Minter provides the information that Absalom's first wife Zilphia Tillman died in 1840. and that he remarried a Martha Ann Mims. On the 1850 census it shows a Martha Ann age 18 along with several children that could not be Zilphia's due to age and could not be Martha's unless she started bearing children at the age of 9???? Found several Absalom's on Buck Creek Cemetary Roster. This one age seemed to fit. Buried at Buck Creek Cemetary where there are 3 Absalom Baker's. age 41, Baker Source Book
