Therefore, William frequently used M. as his middle initial. His tomb stone has William M. Smith on it.WW1 Draft Registration Card - Dated 9/12/1918 has date of birth 1/21/18 94 and age of 34. I believe date of birth should have been 1/21 1884. Also, in the note it indicates thumb, second and third finger of left hand gone. His daughter, Fern, verified he had an accident while working in a saw mill and cut off the fingers. It also list height/medium, build/medium, eyes/brown, and hair/black.
