Note:   Elisha, son of Hiram and Mary Ann Metcalf, was born October 13,1858 anddied March 26, 1953. Elisha was born in Jackson County, Kentucky. He wasmarried to Sarah Williams in 1875. He came to Missouri after his parentshad settled there. Elisha spent the remainder of his life in Missouri. Hewas buried beside his wife, who had died in the 1930's, at the ElmSprings Cemetery about 3 miles southeast ofNeosho, Missouri. He was afarmer and a Freewill Baptist Minister in his early life. To this union 10 children were born: 5 sons (Jimmy, Hiram, John, Elizah, Elisha,Jr.) 5daughters(Susie,Frances,Anna,Martha,Lucy) Susie and Frances were twins. Frances died at 6 or 7 years of age. She isburied about 1 mile north of Bear Creek, between Stone Hollow and ThomasHollow at what is now known as the Bill Younger place, and in an earlierperiod as the Elisha Metcalf place. Jimmy is buried in Kentucky. Hiram is buried in Union Cemetery, south ofStella, Missouri. John is buried in Rocky Comfort. Elizah is buried inNebraska. Martha is buried in Baker, Oregon.
