Note: [Betty.FTW] Matthew was the oldest child of Anthony and was born on Mathew's (Agee) Branch, nr Flat Rock in what is now Powhatan Co., Va. He moved to what is now Buckingham Co., Va with his father, ca 1757 and was there as the first child listed under Anthony Agee for the tithe list of 1773. In 1783, he appears in Henry Co., records with notation "Franklin Co." Thereafter he is listed in the Franklin Co. records. He lived on the Blackwater River, where he owned a large plantation. He drops from the lists after 1823 and widow Agee is then listed. He married in 1773 to Mary Liggon, daughter of JOhn Ligon and wife Mary Mosely. His issue per will (Franklin Co., WB 2, p. 201 dated 4/11/1823- proved 11/3/1823). Ephraim Agee (deceased) Sussannah Agee Ai Agee Polly Agee Levi Agee Matthew Agee Asa Agee Judith Agee Isaac Agee Sally Agee (b. ca 1774) NOTE: Children are listed in order of the will, but Sally was probably oldest chlid.
