a. Note:   875 when he married Sarah L Hodges. He farmed in the eastern part of Johnson County, Texas until after 1920 when he moved to Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
 Farmer, living HH 226-FN 233, Alvardo Pct, Johnson County, Texas on 16 Jun 1880 (ED 84-S27). Living HH 230-FN 244, Pct 4, Johnson County, Texas on 14 Jun 1900 (ED 60-S14). Living HH 44-FN 44, South League Rd., Pct 7, Johnson County, Texas on 18 Apr 1910 (ED 60-S3). Living HH 271-FN 309, Pct 7, Johnson County, Texas on 4 Feb 1920 (ED 55-S15). He was reputed to have been the most loved preachers at the Baptist Church in the Prairie Valley Community, southwest of Venus, in eastern Johnson County, Texas. He and his wife raised 13 out of 14 boys who later became doctors, teachers, musicians, preachers, etc. He built a large house in the community with several rooms so that each boy still living at home could have his own room for study.
