!Ref: Isabel Potts, Columbus, OH to Mrs. Jos. Cutsinger, Riverside, CA; letter 6 Apr 1973. She lists the four sons of Robert Yates. In letter 23 Apr 1973 she says "This was found in our files of soldiers of the War of 1812. Morris Yates son of 2nd Lt. Robert Yates of Spotsylvania, Virginia. Robert Yates was a Revolutionary Soldier having served in the Virginia Militia 1777 and also lived in Culpeper County, Va."
I have the complete Yates history going back to Robert Yates of Spotsylvania Virgnia who also lived in Culpepper County Virginia. he was born around 1723 and died around 1800. He married Miss Maher who was born in England (Welshman). Robert was a Revolutionary soldier having served in the Virginia militia 1777. Robert and Miss Maher had four sons: Joseph, David, Henry and Morris. I have complete history beginning with Robert Yates and Miss Maher through present Yates's. Including birth and death dates, and some biographies. However my research has stopped at Robert and Miss Maher. I can't seem to locate any info beyond that. I would be glad to forward all the info I have to you. However it is 17 pages of info, too lengthy for email. If you'd like to give me a mailing address I will send it to you via mail.
