  DOBYNS
  Dobyns Church was organized at the Dobyns Schoolhouse, on Saturday, September 2, 1911, with twenty-one members. Members who petitioned State Line Church to extend an arm to this community, in February 1911, included R. A. Arrington, Alice Arrington, S. G. Dobyns, Ruth Dobyns, Rosa A. Williams, Sarah Hall, and Louise Handy. By June of the same year, twelve additional members were received and baptized. The presbytery was composed of Elders J. M. Blancett, A. L. Moore, E. M. Barnard, Joel E. Marshall, J. M. Dickerson, W. H. Collins, F. P. Stone, and L. F. Gilbert.
