Robert B. Fleming, son of Ephram and Eliza Feming, was born December 11, 1860 and passed away in Lincoln, NE September 3, 1954, at the age of 93 years 8 months and 23 days. He was born on a farm near Rensselaer, Indiana. His mother died when he was a baby and he made his home with his uncle Sam and aunt Cora Blizzard. He and his brother Frank came to Nebraska in 1881, homesteading four miles south of Wilsonville. On September 16, 1886 he was united in marriage to Ora M. Wixson at Beaver City, NE. To this union two children were born, Clifford O. and Maude E. In 1920 they removed to Taylor and purchased a home in the southeast part of town, near the Congregational church, where he continued to farm and do team work. He liked horses and was always happy when working with them. At the age of 85 years he was still able to husk corn but at the age of 86 he had to retire from active work on account of ill health. Although practically blind and deaf, Mr. Fleming was cheerful and enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. His wife passed away in 1941. He went to Lincoln to live with his son in 1948, where he resided until death. Mr. and Mrs. Fleming observed their Golden Wedding September 16, 1936. Mr. Fleming was a faithful attendant and worker in the Congregational Church in Taylor for a number of years. He leaves to mourn his passing two children, Clifford O. of Lincoln and Mrs. Maude E. Parkin of Taylor, six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Interment was in the Taylor Cemetery.
