Edmond Alsworth Rawn: Birth: 26 DEC 1872. Death: 17 NOV 1874
Menno Alexander Rawn: Birth: 06 NOV 1876. Death: 05 FEB 1879
Note: As reported by Arvilla (Rawn) Matschke to Steve Conroy on October 1, 1998:
"The Bakers leased out property in Philadelphia for 100 years. I remember when my grandma went to Canada thinking how wealthy she would be. They lost the case -- Philadelphia people had expensive lawyers. There is supposed to be a book in the library about the Philadelphia Baker scandal. There was a write-up on it in, I think, the Look magazine about 25 years ago -- Dot and I were told about it, too late for either of us to find it.
"My grandma...your great-grandmother, was a wonderful woman, arthritis in the legs really bad. She was bowed and never had any money. She lived with her children. Lived with my dad's twin sister, Etta Clark, while we were growing up. They lived just one block from us. Grandma stayed with us for ten days at a time three times a year.
"She was vain and always took plenty of time sprucing up with powder and a little color. More than her daughter or my mom. I was 18 when she died, and remember her friends saying: "Wouldn't Grandma Rawn be happy if she could see how nice she looks?"
