She had received it via e-mail from "Marge" at (I received the same information from Diane Schwoerer, "Carole, I have a list of German Immigrants to America. I have a copy of a list that says, 'Johann Chrisoph Neumann arrived in Philadelphia on Aug. 12, 1734 along with his wife aboard the Ship St. Andrew. He stated that he was 18 years old and his wife was 16 years. He took the Oath the same day he arrived.' "Now later I have found a document at the LDS library that lists his sons, five of them: (see children). Also listed as wives, Isaac & Margaret, John & Hannah, George & Mary Elizabeth Robertson, Soloman & Elizabeth and David & Anna. I believe this to be our Newmans. And, oh yes, the children spelled it Newman. Said that Johann's wife was Dorothea Luick. I believe that 1778 was the year of his death." Some sources indicate that Johann's name before coming to the US was Baron Von Barton Newmann and he changed it to John Christopher Newman when he came through the port at Philadelphia.@S23@ Palatines, ship Sait Andrew, John Stedman, Master, from Rotterdam.
