Note: avesend, 23 Jan 1662 to be near his father-in-law, Anthony Janses Van Salee. He returned to Holland and on 22 Jul 1662, he and his brother Harmon's family of wife and 2 children arrived on the De Trouw (The Faith) in New Amsterdam. The fact of their relationship is proven by a declaration dated 22 Jun 1662 from the Register of Salomon Le Chair/Clair, Notary Public of New Amsterdam, published in Holland Soc. Yearbook 1900:143."
The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record. Vol . 115, Oct. 1984 , number 4 "The Dutch Ancestry Of The Van Borkello Family In Early Kings County, New York; In The Netherlands" p. 196 " The Geesteren DRC records commence in 1652; it was therefore not possible to obtain the baptismal dates for Willem and Harmen. However from various entries found in the baptismal and marriage records a fair idea could be formed as to other relatives, brothers and sisters, of these men, children of Jan Lubberdinck and Jenneken Aelinckhave:" They came from the small town of Borculo in the provinc e of Gelderland in what was formerly the County of Zutphen, and hence assumed the name of Berckelo (Barkelo). Lubberdinck is a farmstead on which they resided for several generations. It is located southeast of Geesteren. When they came to America, this very local name was superced by van Borculoo.
