Swank, 71, of Joyce Place, Brookfield, died Monday, October 11,Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield. She was born near Browning on April 12,1905,the daughter of William and Laura Ellen Long Havens. She was united in marriage to Theodore Swank in 1922 and they were the parents of two sons, Lowel V. Swank, 5940 Sterling, Raytown, Mo.; and W.D. Swank of Columbus, Georgia, and three daughters, Lois Shinneman, Chillicothe, Mo.; Thelma Hughs, Ludlow, Mo.; and Shirley Firrel of Independence, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970, her parents, three sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by her children, 23 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, three brothers, Phileman Havens, Paris,Mo.; Hilmon Havens, and Wilson Havens of Browning; and six sisters, Olga Elliott, Anna Brown, Nellie Hubler and Wenona Burdett of Brookfield; Leona Buckallew, Milan; and Hazel Jones, Browning. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral service was Wednesday, October 13,1976 2 p.m. at the Browning Baptist Church, Rev. Dallas William was assisted by Rev. Clarence Barker. Music was by Betty Williams, Chessie Langwell. Casketbearers were her grandsons. Internment was made in the Knifong Cemetery directed by the Wade Funeral Home.
