  Andrew J. Havens Laid to Rest In The Knifong Cemetery Andrew Joseph Havens, son of Hiram and Rebecca Havens, was born in Indiana on November 11,1867. He passed away at his home in Laclede, Missouri, June 10,1949. In early childhood he came with his parents to Browning, Missouri, where they made their new home. He was married to Anna L. Long, December 24, 1900, at Apache, Oklahoma. To this union was born four children. The family moved to Laclede, Missouri in March, 1914, where they became permanent members of that community, his wife preceded him in death March 27, 1916. He continued to make his home in Laclede, rearing his four daughters to womanhood. On September 18, 1926, he was married to Mrs.Nannie Carrell. They resided in Laclede until her death September 16, 1937. He spent most of the past four years with Mrs.Tessie Bailey of Meadville. In early manhood he united with the Christian Church in Browning. He led a full Christian life and was highly respected by all, as a man of sterling qualities and high Christian ideals, a friend to everyone. He leaves four daughters, Mrs.Roberta Blain, Mrs.Lila Fisk and Mrs.Lucille Smith, all of Kansas City; Mrs.Leah E. Van Alstine of Los Angeles, California; two step-daughters, Mrs.Tessie Bailey of Meadville and Mrs.Nellie Thompson of Centerville, Mo.; two grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends. He reached the age of 81 years ,6 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 13, at one o'clock at the Laclede Methodist Church, by the pastor, Rev. F.H. Mittendorf. A trio composed of Mrs.Frank Stillabower, Miss Betty Chalfant and Mrs.Bonnie Alexander, with Mrs.Grace Henry at the piano, furnished the music for the services. The body was laid to rest in the Knifong cemetery under the direction of the Brother's Funeral Service. Casket bearers were J. Stark, Roy Bailey, Guy Stark, Wm.Bailey, Lloyd Balcom, and Howard Woods.
