Notes
a. Note:   Might not be first wife of James Egberts or the mother of all his children. The NYG&B Record, Vol 130, Number 12 April 1999. Barbara A. Barth.. p. 103. "Nicholas Baker was the son of Jacob Backer and Margaret Stuyvesant, half-sister of Director-General Pieter Stuyvesant. Age 45 in the 1709 census, Nicholas was born about 1663/4. In his will written 15 July 1726 and proved 27 Aug 1726, he names his children Neelkie, Elizabeth, Ann, Catherine and Jacob. His daughter Margaret, listed in the census, apparently had died before 1726. Nicholas bequeathed the farm to his son Jacob and requested that as long as his wife Catherine remained a widow she should live in the house and be maintained by the profits of the farm, "peaceably and independent of my son Jacob," who was his executor. All of Nicholas' children were of his first wife."
