Note: Sister Teresa Ranly Mercer County native Sister Teresa Joseph Ranly, 86, of Cincinnati, died March 24, 2005, at St. Clare Convent, Cincinnati (Hartwell). She was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Mercer County, to Peter and Sophia Speck Ranly. Surviving are four brothers, Paul (Marie) of Minster, Orville (Alma) of Philothea, the Rev. Ernest of Lima, Peru, and Don (Eva Joan) of Columbia, Mo.; three sisters, Lucille (Bernard) Droesch, Maria Stein, Rita (Ray) Flaute, Cassella, and Ella Mae (Ralph) Liette, Chickasaw; and two sisters-in-law, Eileen Ranly, Cassella, and Rosemary Obringer, Coldwater. Deceased are three brothers, Norbert, the Rev. Victor and Arthur; two sisters, Alvina Klosterman and Hilda Obringer; two brothers-in-law, Florus Obringer and Walter Klosterman; and two sisters-in-law, Ethel and Erma Ranly. She entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Aug. 15, 1939, at St. Clare Convent. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the convent chapel. Calling will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the convent.
