Notes
a. Note:   John Steven FOSTER (obituary & memorial service announcement)
Dr. John Steven Foster, age 50 was called home to his heavenly father Monday, April 7, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a devoted loving husband and father, son and brother. He had a brilliant mind, a wonderful sense of humor, and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
John graduated from Yale University and he received his Doctoral degree from Harvard University. John spent 17 years in emergency medicine and was the Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Chester County Hospital in Pennsylvania. John was the associate clinical director for the Center for Intergrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He also held a teaching appointment at the Thomas Jefferson University. John left emergency medicine to pursue his belief in Holistic treatments and he established his clinic, The WellSprings Clinic in Wayne, Pa. He traveled to the Far East to study Oriental Medicine and spent a year practicing medicine at the bottom of the Grand Canyon with the Havasupia Indian Tribe. His medical practice balance a strong passion for biochemical, scientific and molecular approaches with herbal, anthroposophical, and spiritual principles.
He was an avid outdoorsman, whose passion included the Grand Canyon, being in the majestic wilderness. He was a writer, farmer and teacher. He raised orchids and farmed 350-acres where he raised organic animals and vegetables.
He is preceded in death by his loving and inspirational father, Wallace Wayne Foster by only 23 hours. He is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea Stonorov-Foster and his children, son, Reed and daughters Deshka and Lhotse. His mother Ursula Foster, his brothers and sisters Paula Foster, Terry Moon, Leslieanne Foster, Cathy McGaughey, Angela Hayes and Christopher Foster. His mother-in-law, Betty Stonorov and the Stonorov family.
What Cancer Cannot Do It cannot cripple Love It cannot silence gratitude It cannot diminish the dignity of a human being It cannot stifle hope It cannot corrupt truth It cannot damage friendship It cannot diminish memories It cannot silence Courage It does not invade the soul It cannot conquer the spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests bare root roses for Ursula's Rose Garden, 1725 Bidwell Place., Woodland, 95695.
(A photograph of Dr. Foster is included with this obituary.)
(Obituary from the Woodland "Daily Democrat," Thursday, April 10, 2003.)
