Note:   Boston Globe, The (MA) - November 27, 1993 Deceased Name: JOSEPH CROSBY JR., 60 INVESTMENT OFFICER, SAILOR A funeral Mass will be said today for Joseph Patrick Crosby Jr., an investment officer with the Community Development and Finance Corporation in Boston, who died Tuesday of pancreatic cancer in his home in Marblehead. He was 60.
  Mr. Crosby was born in New York City. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and earned a bachelor's degree in economics at the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.
  Before becoming an investment officer with the development agency he held financial consulting jobs with Commercial Credit, Banc Northwest, Greenwich Research, Dean Witter and IBM.
  After summering in Marblehead for many years, he made the town his permanent residence 25 years ago.
  A former Navy man, Mr. Crosby was an accomplished sailor who crewed many races on Small Hotel, a sailboat of the International One Design. He was a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club for 34 years and served on the club's race committee. He leaves his wife, Rosemary (O'Neil); a son, Joseph Patrick (Tripp) 3d of Marblehead; his parents, Joseph P. Sr. and Mary (Prinderville) of Needham; and a sister, Mary Anne Farley of Madison, Wis.
  The Mass will be at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Marblehead. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Framingham.
