He had just come to Sumter to serve a tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force at Shaw AFBase, SC.They made a date the following week to go to church together. They dated for the next three years and married in Feb. of 1964. In Nov. of 1964, he got out of the Air Force and they moved to Holmes, Pa.; a suburb of Philadelphia, Pa. which is where Frank's family was from. Frank went to work at Sun Shipbuilding as a draftsman; Jimmie Anne worked as a secretary at American Fibre-Velope Mfg. Co. They stayed in the Phila. area for four years. When their first child, Mark, was born in 1968, they moved back to Sumter, S.C. and bought a home at #5 Hilliard Dr. They lived there for 22 yrs. and raised three children. Frank went to work for B. L. Montague Co. as a structural steel detailer. A few years later, he left Montague and was self-employed subcontracting his work from Steve Biering & Assoc. In 1985, Frank had his first heart attack and quadruple by-pass surgery. In 1986, he retired from drafting and bought a retail liquor store from his father-in-law, James C. Owens. He owned and operated the liquor store until his death in 2004.

Francis (Frank) Henry Anderson, III, 62, husband of Jimmie Anne Owens Anderson, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Tuomey Healthcare System. Born in Darby, PA. he was a son of the late Francis Henry Anderson, Jr. and Florence Evelyn Clarke Anderson. Mr. Anderson was the owner and operator of Anderson ABC Store and was a member of the Sumter Elks Lodge BPOE # 855. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Rosanne S. Owens of Sumter; two sons, Mark F. Anderson and his wife Fran of Gilbert, S.C. and Brian J. Anderson and his wife Crystal of Lexington; one daughter, Stacy Larrayne and her fianc, David Veldman both of West Columbia; one brother, David R. Anderson of Gardiner, ME; one sister, Jeannette Hildick of Grand Island, N.Y.; 5 grandchildren, Megan, Marshall, Amber, Ben and Zane Anderson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter Presson, Ronald DaNella, John McCoy, Steve Biering, Bill Urquhart and Eldon Richards. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Sumter Elks Lodge. The family will receive friends at the home, 472 Cedarwood Dr. Memorials may be made to the Sumter Elks Lodge Veterans Fund, 1100 W. Liberty St. Sumter, SC 29150.
