'MEARCY CATHARINE DIETZ
Mearcy Catharine Dietz, the first child of Daniel Frederick Dietz andMatheny Ann Cordell Dietz, was born on 28 November 1851 in Walker County,Georgia. She was 17 months old when she died on I May 1853. Lulabel DietzBrown says that Daniel and Theney had a baby who was buried 'down at theCove' in Walker County, and this must surely have been Mearcy Catharine.Her name and the dates of her birth and death are recorded in GrandmaTheney's Bible. '
