a. Note:   EMMA PENNER 1918 - 2001 On Tuesday, February 13, 2001, Emma Penner, aged 82, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, and to be reunited with her sweetheart, John. She was predeceased by her husband John; son Dean; her parents Klass B. and Catherine Reimer; stepmother Helen; brothers, Bill, Edward, Art and Leonard. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gloria and husband Don Unger of Winnipeg, Carol and husband Gifford of Phoenix, Arizona; son Curt and his wife Sandra of Montreal; five grandchildren, Scott Unger and wife Candice of Vancouver, Rob Unger and wife Shaylene and great-grandchildren, Emily and James of Winnipeg, Sean Penner and Jeremy Penner of Montreal, Mireille Penner and fiance Joel Zwahlen of Switzerland. She will also be missed by her brother Clarence (Rosalynn) Reimer; sisters, Linda Reimer and Margaret Reimer; many dear nieces and nephews; special friends, Josephine and Dorothy. Mom enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, as a member of the Gideons Womens Auxiliary, and member of her church. She was "industrious, hard working, astute and dependable, for no job was too large and never left undone. She strove for the betterment of all, meticulous with details. She gave her all to the task at hand, was impeccable in mind and soul." So ALOHA, dear lady, your work on earth is done. Aloha - until we meet again. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 920 Cottonwood Rd.; viewing on Thursday, February 15 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., and at the church prior to the service. Interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. As a family, we wish to express sincere thanks for the wonderful care Mom received by her caregivers at home, and the tender loving, dignified care she received at Calvary Place Personal Care Home. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Gideons International. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel; 338-0331.
