Notes
a. Note:   In the 1801 and 1802 Chortitza Colony Censuses he is listed with his brother Jacob and his family at Neuendorf #42 (B. H. Unruh, p. 256). In the 1808 census he is listed with his mother-in-law and her family at Neuendorf #32 (B. H. Unruh, p. 270). A manuscript written by Al Loewen regarding this family is available at the Mennonite Heritage Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the upright file (Dyck, 1993, p. 63). One record says he died 27 Dec 1892, (at age 106!) but this is the day his son Jacob died.
